The unexpected path to founding Passionate Cares.
In 2009, our founder, Arturo Dela Cruz , unexpectedly found his calling. It began when a local engineer with Parkinson’s needed someone to step in during his caregiver’s emergency leave. What was meant to be temporary became permanent when the caregiver never returned.
Compelled by the immediate need, he committed himself to his care. Over the years, he took on more cases, including a scientist and later, a radiologist left quadriplegic by an accident. Their struggles—physical and emotional—drew him deeper into the caregiving vocation.
Through hands-on experience and countless meaningful interactions, he witnessed the life-altering effects of dedicated care. Helping the radiologist regain a measure of independence with new technology was a breakthrough moment. It wasn’t just about physical support; he was restoring his spirit, piece by piece.
These deep, personal connections and the visible changes he brought into people’s lives inspired him to start Passionate Cares. He saw firsthand how the right kind of support could lift spirits and take the strain off for family caregivers, and he wanted to bring that same heartfelt care to more people.

Don’t worry, we’ll make sure that care is continuous. If your regular caregiver is unavailable due to illness or vacation, we will provide a substitute caregiver who is equally qualified to care for your loved one without interruption.
